Welcome one of our newest members
The Walt Whitman Birthplace, home of Walt's birth in 1819, is the only Long Island State Historic Site to be named an "American Treasure" and to be listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The site offers guided tours, museum exhibits, literary events, family activities, school programs, picnic facilities and a gift shop. Open year round to the general public; rentals are available for social or business events.
